Counseling Works LCSW, PLLC is an innovative and pioneering firm in the mental health field. Our mission is to promote emotional wellness through holistic, cultural and strengths-based practices which will empower individuals, their families and communities as well as reduce stigma in accessing mental health care. We do this by co-creating effective change with our clients through a variety of therapeutic modalities rooted in evidence-based practice such as mindfulness meditation, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy among others.

MYRNA NOBLE - HEADAD, LCSW
Therapist and Founder
Myrna Noble-Headad is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience. Her approach to therapy is grounded in using an inter-relational, strengths-based framework that centers on the co-creation of emotional healing and change in her participant's lives. As a trainer, she helps professionals and organizations understand techniques and strengthen their helping skills.
Ms. Noble-Headad has been trained extensively in cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems theory, and solutions-focused modalities. She believes that every individual deserves compassion and respect, regardless of life circumstance or background, and works with others to find their own paths to emotional wellness.
Myrna has extensive experience with community-based organizations around mental health, youth development, and higher education as a clinician, administrator, and supervisor. She is also a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator and an experienced trainer on Emotional Wellness, Youth Development and Engagement.
Myrna received her Master’s degree from Fordham University and Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Old Westbury College. Myrna has trained numerous Social Work Interns and holds a Certificate in Seminar In Field Instruction (SIFI) from CUNY Lehman College.
Myrna strives to be a lifelong learner and follows the Yoruba principle of Iwa Pele, Striving to our Best Character. It is through this lens that she connects with others and co-creates movement in their lives by understanding family values, tradition, culture resiliency which are all things her roots from La Isla De Borinquen, Puerto Rico. When Myrna is not connecting with participants, she is spending some quality time with family and friends, walking in nature, cooking, watching a good show or dancing.
Myrna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State and Connecticut. She is paneled under several insurances and also sees people as private pay. Workshops and trainings she conducts, are customized according to organization's needs.

JENNIFER SIMON MS, MHC-LP
Therapist
Jennifer Simon is a school counselor and former teacher with over 20 years of experience in the field of education. Her passion in helping others has led to her pursuit of a Mental Health
Counselor degree. She completed her Advanced Certification from SUNY Alfred and has been granted a New York State Limited Permit in Mental Health Counseling (MHC-LP).
Jennifer strives to help others become the best version of themselves by utilizing creative problem solving techniques. In addition to counseling services, she also coaches clients who
are experiencing career, educational, and life transitions.
Jennifer aspires to help her clients understand that taking care of themselves by addressing their wants and needs is important and that growth is key to transformation. When she is not helping others transform, she enjoys traveling, visiting museums, and interior design.
Jennifer holds a New York State Limited Permit in Mental Health Counseling (MHC-LP). She is currently accepting new Participants and sees people in the evenings. She sees people as private pay, on a sliding scale basis, and with Cigna/Evernorth Health Insurance. Beginning April 2023. she will also be able to see people who have Medicaid Managed Care Insurances under Emblem Medicaid, MVP Medicaid and United Health Medicaid.
